Transmitter Signal Clamps

Vivax-Metrotech Transmitter Clamps are available in multiple sizes and lengths, making them easy to attach to lines with 2" (50mm), 4" (100mm), 5" (125mm), 9" (230mm) or a Flexible 18" (450mm) diameters. Signal Clamps provide a precise way to apply a locating signal. They are generally used when it is not possible or convenient to access the conductor to make a direct connection but there is sufficient room to place the clamp around the cable or pipe, or when it is not safe to make a direct connection because the target cable is carrying electricity. Signal Clamps are specialized inductive devices, sometimes known as a toroid or coupler. All clamps are optimized to work at specific frequencies. In most cases, clamps are designed to be used at frequencies generally between 8kHz and 83.1kHz.
The Loc3 transmitters, starting in 2023, use the Blue Plug; older transmitters and the VM Transmitters (VM-810/VM-850) will have the 3-pin Silver Plug.
