Line Swivels
Tensile load is managed by a thrust bearing, bending load is handled by a radial bearing, and they combine for industry leading high safe working loads in a compact design. Select a swivel with a maximum rated capacity that meets or exceeds maximum pulling force, use 3:1 Safe Working Load for underground pulling and 5:1 Safe Working Load for overhead hauling applications.
Locking Line Swivels
The 00505A series of locking line swivels utilize a bronze thrust bearing for tensile load, and bending load is managed by a radial bearing. The swivel will lock when tension is applied, preventing wire rope from twisting or unravelling during a cable pull. Since the torque vs. load curve is linear for these locking line swivels, meaning the more tensile load applied requires more torque to rotate the swivel, it is recommended that a cable pulling lubricant is used to reduce pull load tension.
