The 5/16" Ruf Rod is one of the most popular rod diameters because of its versatility in both small and medium size ducts. It uses the smallest of the wheel frames at well under 3' in height and length making it easy to store or load onto your vehicle. A 25-gauge copper wire imbedded in the rod to allows a signal to be transmitted down the entire length of the rod. A terminal box mounted on the frame with male and female banana terminals allows for external transmitter hook ups. A Roller Guide is recommended to create a better connection between the end of the rod and the wall of the ducting. This helps the signal to complete the circuit back to earth. The frame will accommodate up to 1000’ of rod. Longer length pushes should only be tried in smaller ducts (up to 2-1/2"dia.) where there are few bends.
